A season of Thanksgiving and Holiday Cheer can remind you of all your losses in life instead of thankfulness and cheer.

It can make you dissect yourself and question every aspect of your life, past and present.

It can convince you that your sins have led you to all there is for you in this life.

As I took my discouraged heart to God this season, I was reminded that it is not what I have done. It is the small details I prayed for that God is working out. God could give me what I wanted, but it would not be everything I asked for because He was not finished working it all out, so it came together just right for my good.

Instead of looking at my situation as punishment from God, I needed my focus to change to a loving God who has my best interest at heart and is taking me there one step at a time as we walk together.

So, as the feast begins, look at your losses, then look at the person you are today and thank God for the growth He has brought forth in your life in the hard times and even the good.

God is faithful to come through, especially to a heart that allows the praise of Thanksgiving to come from the mouth as your focus becomes fixed on Him.
